Michael Kidd was an award-winning choreographer for legendary Broadway shows and Hollywood musicals. At the beginning of his career, Michael was a soloist for the Ballet Theater now known as the American Ballet Theater. There he was given the opportunity to create his own ballet "On Stage!" in 1945.
After leaving the ballet, Michael moved to the Broadway stage. His initial efforts as a Broadway choreographer earned him a Tony Award for "Finian's Rainbow." He went on to choreograph some of the greatest musicals numbers of all time. His work can be seen in "Guys and Dolls," "Can-Can," "Bandwagon," "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers," and "Hello Dolly" just to name a few. He was the winner of five Tony Awards and a special Academy Award for his services to the art of dance for the screen. He was a true legend!
